BTM 490 - The Management of Digital Privacy in Society

This course is an introduction to the management of digital privacy in society today, from the dual perspectives of individual users of internet-based systems and platforms of all kinds, whose personal information is in play online, and of, governmental, commercial and non-profit organizations who collect and leverage personal information (PI) for the legitimate pursuit of commercial, social and other benefits.

There is no required textbook for this course. Material from a few books, selected magazine and newspaper articles and other public open- source publications on the protection of PI from government and non-profit industry think tanks, will form the reading resource list and be available directly either within the lesson, or from the eReserves or the Instructor’s Blog.
