There are currently two sections of professional development courses available:

See registration details for each section below:

eConcordia:

When registering for a professional development course with eConcordia, you have the following options:

Option 1 (Auditing): Students following this option can register and start the course at any time. This option includes access to the course content for a thirteen-week period during which time students will be able to study the course material at their leisure. Assignments and quizzes will be available to students if they wish to complete them. A Teaching Assistant (TA) will be available to answer general questions. Students following this option do not write a final exam nor do they receive Concordia University credits for taking the course.

Option 2 (Letter of Completion): For eConcordia to grant a letter of completion, students must follow the same thirteen-week schedule as credit students. The start and end dates for each semester follow the Concordia University calendar. Professional development students following this option must submit all assignments, take all quizzes, write the final exam and obtain a final grade above sixty percent in the course to receive a letter of completion. The final exam will be held during the university final exam period but will be scheduled at a different time and location from the Concordia University students. Students following this option will not receive Concordia University credits for this course.

PLEASE NOTE: Students who have taken a professional development eConcordia course can neither convert the course at a later date for Concordia University credit nor take the same course for Concordia University credit in a subsequent semester. Furthermore, students who have chosen to follow the professional development Auditing option may not switch into the Letter of Completion option once they have started the course.

Seminars:

Seminar courses are short learning modules that deal with a variety of general-interest topics. Typically, a seminar course offers learners anywhere between 5 and 15 hours of self-paced instruction using a variety of content delivery methods (video, graphics, animation, etc.). Although these courses are designed by experienced university professors, they are intended for a general audience, do not assume prior knowledge of the subject matter, and are not governed by the university schedule.
