eConcordia is Concordia University's exclusive e-learning provider. Our mission is to provide Concordia with reliable, cost-effective online course development and delivery resources, and consequently empower their students with knowledge through accessible and quality online learning experience. eConcordia is a not-for-profit company whose board members consist of members of the Concordia University community, including Concordia's president, provost, and chief financial officer.
Our team includes instructional designers, graphic and multimedia designers, video producers, programmers, web developers, content editors, usability analysts and of course, the Concordia faculty members. We collaborate with the subject matter experts to design, develop, implement, evaluate and improve their online courses. Faculty members are involved from the beginning of the process in order to ensure that the pedagogical strategy and the course content is being implemented according to their plan. Once the course has been developed, we provide instructors with the technical and administrative support needed to continually improve the course, and subsequently, the online learner experience.
The learner experience is a key component in this process as it provides us with key information about the course. We design and conduct surveys, evaluations, interviews, focus groups, and other types of data collection methods with learners to find ways to improve on their experience with the courses. We relay this information to the university so that we can plan alterations to the course content and/or online course design.
